2. Retailers - commissions existing for other brands what will be for the new one. Preferred lots.

3. Middlemen - Commission expected and preferred lots, warehousing facilities available with them, mode of transport and handling facilities.

4. Wholesaler - Preferred lots, warehousing facilities. transport and handling, incentives for higher voulmes, payment terms

5. Product life cycle based on previous experience and the advertising for launching of the product.

I would add the statistical aspect of market research, along with the development of surveys and analysis of such data.

Market research can be a very useful tool, however with statistics, there is always the possibility of using some mathematical "tricks" to skew the data in the favor of whomever is paying the bills.

Always look at stats with a wary eye.
Reply:Marketing research is not as lofty as most people think. It is simply looking for the demand for you product or service, or looking for a product or service that meets a current demand. A young man intent on making money first studies the lawns in the neighborhood. The yards he determines need mowed are the customers he approaches. The same young man may study his neighbors property and determine the fense needs painted and will offer that service to his neighbor.

That's basic marketing research.
