Does anybody work in the Market Research field as a Market Research Analyst?

I'm just wondering how you got into the position, what you think of it, where you were able to advance to in the company, salary (if you are willing to disclose, you don't have to), and possibly what company you work for and where (again if you are willing). Thanks so much.

Here are the qualifications required for typical Marketing Research jobs in Canada:

Reply:No,,there's really a comic book behind that cover. They're not working.
Reply:I have found that market research often requires a masters degree in statistics or mathematics as they deal with a lot of advanced quantitative measurements. I've spoken with a marketing manager who recommended anyone interested in market research to learn SAS and SPSS. It's a lot of numbers and tedium, but is becoming ever more important in managerial decision making.
