i want to start a market research company in india, mumbai, my question is how do i get projects??





i mean there are companies that give projects for market research, so how do i get projects from them, plz explain from where to start, what resources will i need? n how to start.

Firstly, you need to have some knowledge and experience in market research otherwise no-one will give you any projects, even if you track down the right companies.





Secondly, you need to decide what type of research you are going to specialise in as that will largely determine who you should approach. For example, if you plan to focus on FMCG product testing then you should approach FMCG companies etc.





Thirdly, you need to establish who to contact. For example, most FMGC companies who undertake consumer research will do it either through an internal research department or through an established research house. Often these research houses will sub-contract parts of the research so they're a good place to start. Advertising agencies can also be a good source of advertising research.





Finally, you need to package it all up in a professional presentation or brochure that you can tout around to prospective clients.
