What happens in a market research?

Why do I get phone-calls for surveys?

What happens in a market research?
In a market research study, you answer questions relating to demographic, sociographic, and geographic information as well as answering questions about products that companies come out with. Your answers have the power to decide wether a product comes out or not. You represent all of the people in your area when you answer the questions.
Reply:Market research is the process of gaining information about your market. Preferably, this is specific information about your target market and the key factors that influence their buying decisions. Market research can be casual and limited in scope and, although it may not be “statistically significant” research, it can still be valuable. The value and “degree of fit” may be based on the quality, cost, or the amount of time to acquire the information using these practical market research tools.

Tim Berry has a great article about this as well as a list of free places to find your market research at: http://www.bplans.com/ma/article.cfm/46?...
